Partnering with communities to create lasting benefits through meaningful engagement and shared value.
Through Powering Big Dreams, we partner with communities and First Nations people to create lasting benefits by listening to local needs and funding initiatives that support education, social connectedness and environmental sustainability. By investing in local aspirations, we help build more resilient, prosperous and sustainable communities.
Our approach to community engagement is highly localised because every community is different.
Early engagement
Community engagement begins well before project approvals—often years in advance.
Local sessions
We organise and hold several community drop-in sessions throughout the development phase of a project where we listen, learn, and answer questions.
Our funding focuses on three key areas that build stronger, more resilient communities.
Employment & Education
We support local job creation, training programs, and educational initiatives that build skills and opportunities.
Social Connectedness
We fund programs that strengthen community bonds, support wellbeing, and create inclusive spaces for all.
Environment & Sustainability
We invest in environmental projects that protect and restore local ecosystems and promote sustainable practices.
At Eku Energy we are deeply committed to reconciliation with Australia's First Nations people. Twelve months ago, we made a strong commitment to this journey, and we continue to learn, engage, and hold ourselves accountable.
We asked others to share their experiences.
Huge thanks to Eku Energy for awarding a grant for providing solar panels and a battery for Lady Heydon House to reduce utility bills for 5 women otherwise at risk of homelessness.
Providing new opportunities to our students by participating in Human Powered Vehicle racing lead to much greater engagement in STEM subjects. Thank you Eku for sponsoring two of our vehicles.
The financial support from Eku Energy is changing lives for cancer patients in the ACT.
