Byellee BESS is located adjacent to the Calliope River, near Gladstone in Central Queensland with a direct connection to the Calliope Substation. The project is anticipated to be in operations in 2028.
We always like coming up to Gladstone. It is a wonderful place and we enjoy getting to know the local community. One of our highlighs has been Dorrie Day in August of 2025. What a special event! It was wonderful to see how many organisations are in the area and what great possibilities there are for First Nations people but also others who are intersted in employment and education opportunities. To build and operate a project like Byellee BESS, a variety of skills are needed and we very much appreciated the keen interest and sharing insighs about our project.
We are in the midst of designing our Community Benefit Sharing approach in collaboration with community including local First Nations people and Gladstone Regional Council in accordance with the Queensland Government Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning and guided by our Powering Big Dreams investment principles. We will share updates here as soon as they become available.
Every project we develop starts with listening to local communities and ends with delivering shared value that lasts for generations.
